  12.             Formula One and Indy Car Results 1993 Version 1.0

  16.    This is a program that I have written for any motor racing fans
  17. like myself that helps you keep track of the points totals in the two major
  18. motor sport catagories - Formula One and Indy Car.
  19.  
  20.    After loading the program you may choose to edit/view the results 
  21. from Formula One or Indy Car or quit.
  22.  
  23.    After choosing the series, you are shown the results of the first race.

  25.    To change the results or race or series, use the mouse and go to the
  26. menu which should look like below:-

  28.    Project
  29.    About
  30.    Select Race
  31.    Edit
  32.    Print
  33.    Quit
  34.  
  35. Sub menus are available on Select race and quit.
  36.  
  37.    About - tells you about the author and the program. Not much really.
  38.  
  39.    Select race - The sub menu gives you a list of all the races in the
  40.       year (16 in total). Formula One should start with South Africa
  41.       and end with Australia. Indy Car will start with Surfers Paradise
  42.       and end with Laguna Seca. The data has been entered up to the 15th
  43.       July 1993 (Hungarian GP and New Hampshire GP) and is CORRECT. Please
  44.       do not alter the files up to these dates if you ever intend to pass 
  45.       on this program. To go to a particular race, release the mouse over
  46.       the race you want. Some races will naturally be blank.
  47.  
  48.    Edit - This allows you to enter data into a race. Please only alter
  49.       blank races or races that you have entered. You will be asked if you
  50.       are sure you wish to edit a particular race if that race has already
  51.       been entered. When entering data the procedure is as follows -

  53.    FORMULA ONE
  54.  
  55.       Firstly type in the name of the pole postion holder (surname and
  56.       start with a capital e.g. Alesi (not alesi or ALESI) otherwise the
  57.       program will not recognise it (will be corrected for Version 2))
  58.       Then type the name of the person with the fastest lap.
  59.  
  60.       Afterwards you must type in the positions 1 to 6 with their finishing
  61.       times. Unfortunately, any new drivers who score points will not be
  62.       recognized - this will be corrected for version 2)
  63.  
  64.       Finally type in the weather status of the race.
  65.  
  66.       Then the results will appear with the drivers team, country and
  67.       how many points he currently has in the championship.
  68.  
  69.       All this information can be got from Motoring News which is on sale
  70.       in the UK on Wednesdays and is the source of my information.

  72.    INDY CAR
  73.  
  74.       Type in the pole sitters name as above (Mansell not MANSELL) and then
  75.       the leader of the most laps. (These are needed for the points total.)
  76.  
  77.       The type in the results for positions 1 to 12 an the times.

  79.       Notes - Mario Andretti must be typed as Andretti, John Andretti is
  80.       J Andretti (if he races again), Al Unser Jr is Unser Jr and Al Unser
  81.       is just Unser (if he races again too).

  83.       Then the teams, countries and points of the drivers will be displayed.

  86.    Print - Make sure your correct printer driver is installed etc. and then
  87.       select print from the menu. Only single races will be printed.
  88.       Multiple printing will be available in Version 2.

  90.    Menu - Takes you back to the first screen so you can view/alter the
  91.       other series.

  93.    Quit - Quits the program.

  96.    Other things to note, the data is stored in a directory called F1&Indy
  97.    and make sure you copy all the files to a directory of that name if you
  98.    wish to transfer to a hard drive. When copying to hard drive, place the
  99.    program in a directory e.g HD1:Programs/F1&Indy_Scores/ and then make a
  100.    further directory (HD1:Programs/F1&Indy_Scores/F1&Indy) for the data.
  101.    The program cannot work without the files F1.DATA1, F1.SCORES1,
  102.    Indy.DATA1 and Indy.SCORES1 in the F1&Indy directory.

  110.    Hakkinen, Herbert, Hill, Katayama, Lehto, Patrese, Prost, Schumacher,
  111.    Senna, Suzuki, Warwick, Wendlinger, Zanardi. (Sorry no Martini - buy
  112.    version 2 [Lucky he didn't finish in Hungary])

  114.    Indy Car

  116.    Rahal, Groff, Andretti, Mansell, Fittipaldi, Tracy, Unser Jnr,
  117.    Sullivan, Fernandez, Goodyear, Matsushita, Luyendyk, Johansson, Fabi,
  118.    Guerrero, Boesel, Brayton, Gachot, Gordon, Cheever, Smith, Vasser,
  119.    Danner, Kudrave, Buhl, Bachelart, Greco, Bentley, Pruett, Lazier,
  120.    Brabham, Montermini, Chiesa, J. Andretti, Unser, Grouillard, Ribbs,
  121.    Till. (Sorry no St.James - swapped with Gachot but she returned
  122.    at Michigan. And no Johnny Unser.)

  124.    Finally, as you may have noticed, version 2 will become available to

  146.    -   Ability to view the current championship tables (inc. constructors)
  147.        and who can still win the championship or who is the champ when it
  148.        happens.

  150.    -   Possibly little pictures of the circuits

  152.    -   Digitised pictures of Formula One and Indy Cars when selecting
  153.        (AGA machines only because I want them in 256 colours)
